Ice fishing trip with ‘the boys’. Looking for recommendations on fun things to bring.?
I’ll be out ice fishing with a group next weekend. Aside from fishing equipment, I’m looking for suggestions on things that will make the trip even more fun. We will be staying in cabins and going out to the fish-houses during the days. All meals are provided as are many of the amenities. I’m looking for some joke things, need to have things, practical and inpractal stuff and other things that will be just good old fun.
Thanks.

beer, beer, oh and lots more beer!
days are full huh fishing and all… so that leaves the evenings… tic toc tic toc (thinking) tic toc.. how bout some cards, teach them to play blackjack (easy) and play for chips or matches or m and m’s something that will be fun, you didn’t say what age they are, also bring along the snacks… don’t forget the camera… (hey… just makin memories)! good luck and kudos for quality time spent with the ones who believe you are their hero!
What you can bring equals how much money you have and how “single” you are.
Low end- Pack of cards/poker chips, cheap cigars, Bush Beer, Etc.
High End- Brandy, Summit Beer, Grey Goose Vodka, Havana’s, and maybe some strippers!
(just teasin’!)
Honestly, hopefully you won’t HAVE to entertain yourself TOO much! The fishing should take up MOST of your time. From experience, the BEST thing to add to a ice-fishing excursion would be an Aqua View underwater camera, (about $ 200). Nothing keeps fishermen more alert than watching their prey about to hit there bait!
When your friends are not paying attention or outside put a hot dog on there line and pull line out . Its good joke when they pull it up.
Bring extra clothes….thats a big “need to have” thing Warm socks…can never have enough warm dry socks! Otherwise id bring beer, maybe some home made chicken soup broth or some hot chocolate in a thermos, a radio, cards, camera, blow-up doll for the first shmo who passes out so you can put it in bed with em. Id also bring stuff to snack on like beef jerky and peanuts. I dunno. Use your imagination and have fun. Youre there to fish so everything else is icing on the cake.
Good luck and let the big ones go!!!
here’s a suggestion for a card game. my friends and I play a game of spades and a**h***. they are easy and fun. a**h*** is a drinking game but you can do it with non-alcoholic drinks or food or some other way.
here are the links to learn how to play.

(when you type in the link, spell the actual word, won’t work unless you spell it. don’t wanna offend anyone)
bring a video camera to record, a camera for fun, music, get fake bugs if anyone has a fear of them, markers for faces (if you wanna get immature lol)
my list can go on lol. have fun on your trip =)
